just installed one of these on my 07. The chain was tight almost immediately after turning the screw. No way is the spring completely unloaded. Took it out for a ride. Shifts nice, has a slight whine to it, but it didn't change when it got hot, so gonna run with it and see how it goes.

Awesome write up. Thank you. you mentioned a whining noise ? would that be from the tension er being too tight?

I am having trouble understanding where this tensioner picks up a pressure feed to operate. What am I missing?

That may be irrelevant now, Paul - the spring inside LuxBlue's tensioner snapped, and I think he's decided this one is snake oil and gone back to the stock tensioner.

Yup, unfortunately, although not "snake oil", (it does work great when it works), the spring is a weak link that can't be trusted. (My opinion.)

At least one other member on here also developed a broken spring.

I only found mine when I tore down to rebuild my starter solenoid.
