Default 1992 front Caliper Mounting Braket???

Striking out everywhere trying to find this part. J&P, Revzilla, St. Charles Harley, Lowboy, Bikerdirect...sold out or backordered. I came across The Manual Store (great selection of manuals, unfortunately not the Electrical for Harleys) - same story, backordered.

The Harley OEM # is 44072-92 and it's generally called the Caliper Mounting Bracket. It holds the "floating" brake pad - the one the piston contacts.

Apparently I didn't line up the rivet correctly with the guide pin when I changed my pads a few weeks ago. I looked at it the other day (b/c the brakes were squealing) and the rivet is chewed up a bit, to the point where it won't seat flush to the pin now. I can file it some more but I'd rather just replace it.

Here's a picture of a new one. If you guys happen to know a good online parts source, or any suggestions for the real world...
Thanks!

Try shop.newcastlehd.com or surdyke

A used caliper on eBay is $30-$40 with shipping.

thanks I'll give them a try. I did find someone selling a new one on ebay but they wanted $53 + $7.99 shipping. When they're in stock they sell for about $30 new so I'll wait a bit before paying $60.

Thanks again!

Thank you IXL I'll try them too... strange how the places that stock them are all "sold out" or have them backordered. I know 1992 is going back a bit but it's not that long in Harley years...I always thought there was a healthy supply of NOS out there but this pad holder is really tough to find.
Thanks again!

Ronnie's shows an upgraded part number for 1992 Sportster 1200.

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....PER%20ASSEMBLY

13 44060-83A* BRACKET, CALIPER MOUNTING* $17.49

I'm not sure why - but other references use the 44072-92A number for 1992 Maybe Ronnie's is wrong on this one...

Did you try running the -92A part number??
Surdyke shows the -92A for $28.37 - no indication of not available -
