Default Still got your upper drive belt guard??

I would like to post a poll, but don't know how.

I am interested to know how many people, specifically those who ride twos-up at least some of the time, have kept theirs? Clearly there is a potential safety issue in play here.

I know it's a legal requirement some places, but the Feds here could care less and my preference is to remove it.

What did YOU decide and why?

How about that? Will something like that do?

Figured they put it there for a reason. If I get a new bike and start to strip this one, I'd consider losing the upper and lower.

I kept mine on. I like the way it looks with the lightning holes in it.

Kept it on. I ride solo. I don't see a real benefit in taking it off.

Apparently street riding doesn't really call for one, but if there's a chance a stone could get thrown up into your pulley it'll screw your belt up most rikki tik.
I put holes in mine just because I liked the look.

Thanks Folkie! Do you EVER sleep??

On one hand I quite like it, but on the other, the stripped-out Rat Bike look wins for me, but I am quite safety oriented. Says the bloke who wears a half-lid...

Left mine on, don't mind it really, little extra chrome to shine up.

I give my daughter rides...would removing the belt guard suck her foot into the primary?...probably not. Would removing it provide an opportunity for her to get her foot over against the belt and scare the crap out of her?...yup.

Belt/chain guard stays on my bikes...
