Default A different Oil filter test

Since it snowing today I found this web site and motorcycle oil filter test video while looking around on BobIsTheOilGuy.com

It is tests of BMW Motorcycle filters, such small filters for the BMW R1200GS

Filters tested:
HiFloFiltro
BMW OEM
Mahle
Mann
K&N
Volar
Mobil 1
Wix
Fram
Napa Gold
Super Tech
FLO Reusable

I thought you might enjoy the show on a snowy morning.

Good info on oil filters. I was wondering tho, should the oil filter bypass lb. pressure match the ball and spring/ check valve on the bike, or should it be higher or lower than the bike's?

Yet another good post shanneba! and yet again the filters we presume the best come out bad and visa-versa and anyone running the reusable ones seem to have wasted an awful lot of money!
What to use eh?
I did like the look of that latest Fram filter in another post, but it's not available over here.
I have a couple of Mahle, but i cannot see a drain check valve seal, so may have to cut one open and have a look see.
Maybe i'll just play safe and use the stock Harley filter for now.
Decisions, decisions, decisions!

I would try to contact Mahle and ask about the specs of the oil filter, they may provide the information to you.

I contacted Mahle, but no response, so i cut one open.
A pile of junk i think.........

The filter medium was 7ft x 1.5/8 or 2150mm x 40mm for what use it may have been.

Maybe the best Oil Filter in the world? Been using it for over 9 years and I will not go back.

S4 or S44 for Sportsters.

Another "cleanable" filter option with 22 micron absolute rating.

Which Mahle filter is that harley506d?

I'm starting a internal filter comparison in the pedia.
