Default What gas mileage do you get for touring?

Just wondering what sort gas mileage other Sporty riders are getting when riding mostly at highways speeds?

Well that depends on a lot of variables.

1. Gas, ethanol
2. Altitude
3. Speed
etc

I've gotten anywhere from 35 to 55 on my coast to coast trips.

YMMV

An easy 50 mpg -which sounds about right for a two-cylinder, 1200cc, 550lb vehicle with solo rider.

Best answer with one of the ects being head winds or tail winds. Anybody that counts on 50+mpg all the time are gonna be in good shape from pushing a 550lb bike. (BTW i get around 38-52mpg)

Bill,

Damn, how could I forget wind.....
Ran out of gas on I-40 because of it.
That and the fact that Glenrio TX (Exit 0) is a ghost town.....

Just got my sporty 2 months ago and first tank go 65mpg. I though "no way"
must be a fluke. Second tank almost as good. Consistently average around 60 with all types of riding.
Stage 1 883C Unbelievable.
