Default Sportster security help

I'm new to the forums and hope this is the right place to post this, I'm having an issue with starting my Harley. I lost the key fob a long time ago and I always use my pin to start the bike, well I just switched my bars out and now everything works but when I turn the key and hold both turn signals down so o can type in the code, nothing happens, it just stays showing the mileage and will not let me get to where I can type the pin in, any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated. My bike is a 2012 Harley Sportster xl883 iron.

I guess that when you swapped the bars, you damaged the turn signal wiring.

Check your connectors from the right & left controls to the main harness...

Do the Turn Signals work? Can you get the 4-way flashers going?

Do the other individual buttons operate correctly?

I guess that if he can't unlock the security system, he's going to have a hard time checking what works and what doesn't.

Dang new-fangled contraptions!!!

I guess if he gets to the connectors he can use his meter to validate the TS and other buttons are operating...

I can get the security system to go off and the front and rear lights will flash, but I can't test if they work from the switch because I can't get it to turn on

This might be relevant:

Power Disruption

The HFSM will not enter PIN entry mode on the first attempt
after battery voltage has been removed from terminal 1. This
will occur after any of the following:

• Battery disconnect or power drain.
• Battery fuse removal.
• Connecting BREAKOUT BOX to HFSM connector.

Therefore, after all battery reconnects, the configuration
sequence must be modified as follows:

1. Set Engine Stop Switch to OFF, cycle ignition switch
IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION and press left
turn signal switch twice.

2. Repeat steps listed above.

3. Continue with PIN entry sequence listed.
