Default 2008 Nightster seat fitment

Looking for an inexpensive 2 up seat for my 08 nightster I just bought so the old lady or kid can hop on the back. Not going on long trips, just around town. Can anyone help identify if this seat will fit? Bike still has ecm on fender. Also will the seat fit nice with the 3.3 gas tank or have a gap? Any help is much appreciated. Great site. Need to find some passenger pegs as well....

Since the seller is "unsure of model or year fitment", it's very hard to tell.

Sportster is embroidered on the back. I was just hoping to get lucky and there be some others tell tale things that would help Identify it. thanks for your reply.

If you're using the stock Nightster seat, HD makes a matching passenger pillion seat that's plenty thick and fairly comfortable, or so says my wife. It's not expensive either.

Yea, I’ve thought about that and am considering it. I’m not real fond of the stock nightster seat though, it’s like riding on a piece of wood.

Hi. Yes, that seat on ebay will fit at the area to allow for the ECM.
I just went and looked at mine, the original 2008 xl1200L seat as i have another seat on my bike. I can not say if the passenger seat is any good as never sat on it or had passenger ride two-up.
However it is not a large passenger seat area but may be ok for what you will need. The riders part of seat is very average/poor to sit on for any length of time but this is not unuaual for stock seats. Also this seat fits neatly to my larger fuel tank and if you are to fit it to the smaller tank i believe there will be a gap. This ebay item seems in very good condition.

Thanks! It’s cheap enough that I’m willing to give a try for a while to get me by. Then upgrade to a better seat when money allows. Next step is to figure out what forward controls to go with and to do something with the suspension. The bike only has 3,000 miles, but these things ride rough!

Might be better off sitting on the frame that seat is horrible.

Hi SportyHD. Check this site out.
I just googled seat fittings and found another HD Forum has just the information you require. Pictures, info etc of Sportster seat fitments from 04 - 10 models.
Google: # Seat Fitment guidelines for 04-06, 07-09 and 2010 with pictures of factory saddles. Possibly will not have to type all that in for it to come up.
Just what you need! Good luck with the seat issue and ride safe.
*I wonder if this piece of information should be placed in the Sportserpedia section?
