I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work. As long you can get the light to line up with where you want the fairing you're golden.

Fitment was fine, I had to move my signals to under the bottom triple clamp because I use the type that wrap around the fork tube, like DK sells. It has a foam gasket that presses against the headlight. I have a little light bleeding on the bottom edge but it doesn't seem To make a difference.

Could you post some pics of how, you mounted it with the zip ties? I am a cheap bastard too, and have been wanting one of those fairings, but I'm too cheap to buy the mounts.
Does it offer much wind protection? Any buffeting?

Will do this afternoon. I'm 6'3 and it has changed my life at my usual 70mph highway speed. I use to have to hold on for dear life, now I can fully relax my grip and am completely comfortable. Wind meets the chin bar of my helmet with no buffeting. If I had a lower seat it would be even better, get the wind a little higher on my helmet.

All the brackets pictured came with the fairing. As you can see they have some wiggle room

FWIW, The brackets that came with jheitt’s Krator quarter fairing look just like the brackets that I bought from Bung King to adapt a narrow-glide Convertible windshield to the mid-glide forks on my ‘15 XL1200CP.

Bung King markets the brackets as a way to adapt the H-D Quarter Fairing to 49mm Dyna/Softail forks using H-D quick-release fork clamps. I used the H-D Convertible clamps. I’ve seen these brackets used often to adapt Quarter Fairings, Gauntlets, and cafe fairings to various bikes.

See: http://www.bungking.com/2018-model-4...iring-bracket/

Bung King also sell a “flat” version of the adapter pate. It’s marketed as away to mount the H-D Quarter Fairing to 39mm narrow-glide forks using H-D quick-release clamps.

I have no affiliation with Bung King. I’m just a fanboy of products that make it easier for somebody like me, with very-limited fabrication skills and no welding skills, to do things to my bike. With these two versions of the adapter plates, grade 8 bolts, and Delrin spacers, I should be able to adapt any windshield or fairing to my CP.

i bought that exact one a few weeks ago..the quality is there, it holds up so far. the wind deflection is nice, I repainted it to fit my bikes paint scheme and I like how the light doesn't have that cover on it like the krator, because the stock head light gets pretty hot.
looks like china really pulled through on this one.
