Hurry up and get better enough to finish the maintenance on your bike and get some miles in. I can feel your pain, i just had a low speed get off on Monday. I was stopping for a red light and the front washed out in a puddle of antifreeze. Slammed me pretty good. FF and armored jacket kept the damage to a bruised hip and twisted knee and ankle. Minimal bike damage. Still limping myself.

Antifreeze is crazy slick, that is why roadracers are required to run water. In my experience you hit the ground just as hard in a ten mile an hour low side as in an eighty mile an hour one and you have less opportunity to save it. You might get ground up less depending on the gear you have on, but the impact with the ground is very comparable.

Sorry to hear about yer get-off cycowrencher antifreeze is nasty sh!t hope you get better quick, you may not have got as busted up as me but twisted knee and ankle is no treat.

Myself... I'm walking pretty good this last week, though the Latin dance competitions will have to wait another month or two. Meanwhile I'm getting some good riding in... did about 700 miles last weekend on a Friday 13th run with IronMick and sportsterpaul

Only minor work on the bike lately, front pipe was slapping the footpeg and I fixed that by moving the mounting clamp below the frame bracket which provided nearly an extra 1/4 inch of clearance... perfect! Remaining maintenance and accessories will need to wait on the tight budget. Bike is still a long way from where the Sportster was. Handling is, well... lacking. Minimal storage in the tiny hardmount bags that came with it. Brakes still need overhaul. And I really miss a good useable windshield, anything over 60mph just sucks with a half helmet and sunglasses. Forks really need a fluid change and tuning, brake dive is atrocious.

You're right! Over 30 years ago I locked my rear and had to release or I would have become part of someone's grill! That said, the danger of high siding is there when you release. I was fortunate as I had no time to think, rather all I could do was react and use my reflexes.

Sorry Don, been away for a while. Michelin Pilot 170/60 in the rear and a Michelin Scorcher 120/70 for a V Rod in the front. Both radials, but not quite a match compound-wise (the rear is softer), plus the load rating is on the light side for a sportster.
They may not fit a stock set of wheels properly - these rims are 3.50 & 4.25 19"/17" Sun rims from Buchanans.
I think my bike turns in decent & goes round corners good. Its stable anyway.
