Sounds like you're doing really well. I'm very glad for that!

I've seen those knee videos because my left knee is probably bound for one in a few years. No freakin' way! I'm holding off forever if possible. That operation is BRUTAL.

Deb, here’s the bottom line-spoken from one that’s been there twice now, do, do it as soon as you can. Prepare by losing weight and toning up, believe me it really helps. You will have pain, that’s a given, also swelling, more added pain. Take your meds, I always jump on them earlier and heavier than prescribed then back off as my body tolerates it. I don’t know how the civilians are doing it, my first go around was 5 days the first two on a morphine pump, no pain but my face hurt from grinning. Then they took the pump away, ouch. This time checked in a 9:00 on Monday punched out at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. Didn’t see that coming. The first week I was a bit uncomfortable at times but kept the leg elevated and iced,(at my youngest boys house). Now home, alone, and rehabbing with my EZ STRECH electric chair,(previous surgery I had an electric flexing leg machine). This chair does both my legs together extends and flexes by degree. After a week I’ve maxed it out both directions and am walking better, less pain less initial stiffness when ambulating. Actually cut my grass the other day, life is better. Bottom line get it done, we’re not getting any younger, well you probably are, not this old dog. Now it’s about quality of life, make it the best for what ever time we have left!!
