Default Neutral indicator light only when cold

Anybody else ever have this problem. Cleaned every connection and put it back together, same thing happens. It go's away completely after a few minutes. Obviously will replace the sensor, just wondering if this is a one off. 2001 buell cyclone. btw, just got a ticket first time out, more than I paid for the bike. 1500 bucks for the bike, 1750 for the ticket. 132 in a 65. I didn't mean to get on it, this mofo just go's. :0

My 2011 Iron is doing that exact same thing. Bought a switch but haven't installed it yet. Did yours clear up with a new switch?

Default neutral lights goes out when motor heats up

Yes it did go away after replacing the sensor ( next to your right foot, just behind the belt), if its the same on your year model. Not a hard procedure, but sure would have been nice if it was a half inch further forward. Got mine off of eBay, because nobody else seems to have this problem, so figured maybe 1 out of a thousand bad? Kind of a bitch looking for neutral real quick to rest your hands at a stoplight, isn't it

I've got to pull the rear pipe to get the belt cover off.

Glad that fixed the issue for you. Hopefully this fixes this on mine. This is the wife's bike and she really likes here neutral light.

Do yourself a big favor 1st bud. Turn on your ignition, with the bike in neutral, and just let it sit the same amount of time it would take for it to go out when the motor is running. In other words, eliminate the light bulb being the problem, before you replace the sensor. I know it will drain down the batt, (because the headlight is on), but it can be recharged. Might save yourself a lot of work.

Swapped out the switch today. All good in the hood now. Thanks for the help.
