Default Converting from Forward Controls to Stock OEM Foot Controls

Hello all,

When I bought my 97 XL1200S it came with Metric Forward Controls already installed that only accept female pegs so my aftermarket selections are pretty limited. Also, I recently installed an RSD Air Cleaner that sticks out a bit further than the Screaming Eagle AC I had on before which makes it kind of uncomfortable to use the forward controls.

I'm curious if anyone knows the parts needed to convert back to Stock/OEM Foot controls and where to get them. Even better, if anyone has converted a 97 to forward controls and wants to sell the OEM mounts/pegs/shifter/brake etc., I'd be interested in that as well. Any and all help is greatly appreciated as I haven't had much luck searching online.

Thanks.

You may want to do some research here, if you haven't already.

If you find the "sticky" threads for your era bike, there is a "wtb, wts, wtt" spot where if you want to buy, sell, or trade parts, you MAY get lucky. Put what you want over there.

Hit up a local indie shop. When I swapped back to stock, they had like 8 pairs complete in the shop, take offs from people who installed forwards. I paid 100 bucks for everything I needed. Then I sold my forwards for over twice that.
