Hi Brendan, sure looks like the fasteners holding the base into the cover are not the correct countersunk type.

Hang on, I think I’m looking at weld beads and not screw heads, hmmm, I’m not sure about your base but for sure someone here will sus it out straight away.

That video is precisely what I would like to accomplish! Yes, those ugly protrusions are my poor tack attempts to prevent the mag from having play on the base. Now that I am looking at your photo, I'm thinking that my mag may have been facing forward (so, tag side out) at one point, I'm thinking maybe down the road the mag was rotated 180 degrees to face the correct way (tag side in) and potentially during this change the base ring was not rotated 180 degrees when the mag was rotated 180 degrees, hence why I am not seeing these thumb screws in my base as they are currently facing the cylinder?
