I used this caliper for the left front, no spacer.



The original caliper is a floating caliper. The bolts and threads are completely different than what the Wildwood uses.

The Wildwood bolts on solid with 3/8-16 thread bolts.





The spacer might be for mid glide application?

This is a quote from another forum, someone who has had positive results from this upgrade.

They do in fact bolt right on...once you get the correct bolts, which Wilwood does not include. What you need are two 3/8" x 16TPI x 1" bolts (per caliper)

1" bolt "sounds" short .... can anyone confirm this bolt info? and I`ll get hold of some pronto.

Beats me. I would email Wilwood tech support and ask. I suspect it's to make one part number have offset options to fit two different rotor offsets, perhaps for narrow and wide glides.

1” sounds about right, but I don’t remember for sure. The bolts are short, as there is not many threads in the caliper, and the caliper is close to the rotor.The bolts are only tightened to 20 lb-ft!

I used two different length bolts. A shorter one in the bottom hole... if it’s too long it can contact the rotor, especially if you are using floating style rotor.

I installed a longer bolt in the top hole. With the threads sticking through the caliper just enough to fully engage a self locking nut. (As a back up nut) I salvaged a used caliper and didn’t fully trust the threads. I also applied loctite to the bolts.


See how close the bottom bolt is to the rotor bobbin in this photo




My bikes down in the barn and covered. I can double check bolt lengths tomorrow if you need it.

Oh guess what ? they sent me a Right hand caliper
invoiced for a Left and sent a Right.
So I cant even throw it on for a test fitment, but yeah, the 1" bolts are starting to look right, just sounded short to reach through the fork lugs and the caliper mount.
We`ll get there in the end.

I'm looking forward to an exact list of what bolts are needed for install. Might buy myself a Wilwood caliper for Xmas!

Exact List:

Qty 2) 3/8” X 16 bolts, 1” long.
Qty 2) 3/8” flat washers (thin)

I’d recommend at least a grade 5 bolt.
