Sorry to bring up a old thread, however most pics are unviewable...

its it just a case of keep all standard connectors, but run all the cables under the back bone?

@Elzer0

Yes that is correct. I just used the straight bar from a U bolt clamp (painted black) as a spacer to lift the front of the tank. All wiring remained the same and I used black electrical tape to wrap the wires into a harness of sorts that sits along the backbone. You will need to disconnect some plugs and reroute but everything goes back together.

It’s been a while and I can’t remember if you need to move the ignition or if I just did so at the same time. I had it mounted between the heads but that eventually rattled and the mount broke. So now its just zip tied to the backbone.

I have already done a tank lift / wire tuck, but never been fully happy with the look... id much rather not have the tank lifted...

You used a U bar to lift the tank? bit confused as i say most photos are not showing due to photobucket?!

@Ellzer0

Ahhh, gotcha. Didn’t realize you were trying to tuck without a lift. To do that, I believe you have to cut the quick connectors out and solder the wires together.

That was too much work for me. I’m lazy. That’s why I cheated and used the straight flat bar from a U bolt clamp. The holes were 1.5 inches apart (or there about, I’d have to go look/measure). You could DIY by using a chunk of flat bar stock and drill holes as well. But if you’ve already lifted yours you’ve probably got that figured out by now.

I agree they look better with the tanks lower/stock height but I just didn’t have the time nor patience to solder it all together.
