i just switched from 23t to 20t sprocket yesterday; you can expect to have to re-adjust your rear brake arm setting looser. mine tightened up enough when i adjusted my chain to the smaller sprocket that i couldn't roll the bike.

Brian are you talking about the rear wheel bearing on the braking side (41195-63) or the washer for the wheel bearing (41205-52)? 41205-52 calls for 1 for bikes 66 & later...

I believe he is talking about the 6663HB washer you mentioned in your posted message a while back.
Look back thru the messages for it and his suggestion of getting 2.

God to hear it sounds like you got it all sorted out.

Default Did you finally find a solution?

Our 73 Sportster is doing the same thing. We rebuilt it after 40 years of down time. New shoes but drags in one spot. Thank you

With new shoes, pull them and check the wear pattern. The shoe ends where the shoes pivot will have the wear marks, which is right where they need to be. Might wanna check the wheel bearings and repack with fresh grease while you're at it. Set the pedal play a little loose as the shoes seat themselves. As the brake wears in tighten up the adjuster nut to take out the play.
