Thank you and safe travels in 2023

See what comes with the lamp but if the gasket goes on the bucket and then the lamp and then the retaining ring do that if it fits.

Mine was a completely different shape so the gasket would not fit. I just used some thin rubber off cuts to wedge the unit.

I didn't use the rubber at all. You're going to be amazed at how much more light your headlight puts out.

Also do an alignment check and adjustment.
HD used to just give a point on a wall to aim at but in recent times that has changed to measure the height of the headlamp on the bike and make the point on the wall a distance down from that height.

Thanks all. i will do an alignment check as we have a proper beam setter at my work.
I am assuming the rubber gasket/seal is some kind of dampener to stop it shaking itself to death

On the last inspection my bike had I was able to see what the tester was doing. With the HD daymaker and probably with all the look-a-likes - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wisamic-Pro.../dp/B01DZU30S0
the top middle element can upset the beam alignment tool but you will be able to see that for yourself. He covered it with his hand.

Hi Andy, i would think that would be where the beam kicks up on the left on dipped beam in the uk. But on lamps for the rest of the world with a few exceptions the lamp would kick up to the right when on dipped beam potentially dazzling oncoming vehicles
