Great point, and yes they will be, I just threw them up for measuring the spacing on the two end pieces.

When I ordered this old Doug Fir from Montana Reclaimed Lumber
I asked for mostly quarter sawn for the stability. But the deck will have some rift and plain sawn. It was also kiln dried.
