Default Pipes "Wheezing" on decel

'92 XLH 1200 with Super E -

I bought Bassani "Pro Street" pipes 2 into 2 and they're great but they "wheeze" a bit on deceleration. Not a lot but enough to be noticeable. Power and throttle response are good and they sound good too, at idle and when I twist the wick. But letting off produces a bit of a a wheezy sound.

They came with removable baffles but I doubt removing them will help, probably make it worse.

I miss Cycleshack their M Pipes were the best. These Bassani sound very much like them except on decel where they produce a bit of wheeziness.

EDIT: If you're considering these you should know that your boot will sit very close to the pipe unless you make a point to keep your foot toward the outside of the peg. If you don't your boot will meet the same fate as mine: a melted heel. The Bassani heat shields don't come down far enough to protect your boot so I'll try fabricating my own. A fun project but I wish I didn't have to do it. Spend and learn as they say!

Yes, I made them myself. I also made two different diameters to see, which will suit me better. I just bought the washers, made them concave and weld them to bolts so that the hole in the middle is closed. Cheap and efective...

For sure. Can you recommend something? I'm calling it wheezing, maybe that's not a good description. They sound like drag pipes after a roll on when you come off the throttle.

With 2>1 systems or with the Cycle Shack M pipes I had before there's a deep rumble throughout the RPM range. These Bassani pipes produce that too, except on decel where I hear a wheezy, "airy" sound mixed in.

Like I said it isn't horrible and I'm getting used to it. But it'd be nice to fix it!
