With electric ignition I don't think the plug gap should be what manual calls for, plus do you still have the solid copper plug wires?

I have the kind of plug wires ya need for the elec ign....forgot what their called but I know there's 2 kinds...as far as the gap I gapped it larger for the hell of it late yesterday...close to 40

OK. Nice fat blue spark and idles and runs fine once started.

Points to a fuel problem.

Try the Aerostart.

This is a cheap easy quick test and pretty much rules a carb/fuel line system problem in or out

It should run for two seconds (or so) on a 2 second shot of ether (Aerostart) It should start and run within 3 kicks.

If that happens the problem is most likely in the fuel bowl or fuel supply.

If it won't run on the Aerostart the problem will either be compression (do a test) or the timing.

Also I'm assuming you don't have a vacuum operated fuel tap on the tank.

Are you sure the enriching circuit isn't clogged? That will make them start hard.
