Tons of posts on here and videos on YouTube. Search for stock exhaust mods.

Personally, some cheap slip-ons will be easier and better.

What's a 'Harley sound'? Spοrtsters don't sound like Bіg Twіns.

If you remove the baffles you will certainly need to tune the EFI. Others with more experience will advise you, but the PowerVision tuner is popular and well regarded.

You may have a problem with lack of back pressure, which might make tuning problematic.

With regular (non cat) silencers, a popular mod is to enlarge the holes in the baffles (the Gronk Mod), but I'm not sure how (or if) that'd work with cat silencers.

Didn't the CAT get removed with the 2007 model year?

http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/s...ortster#fnt__5

Summary of changes for MY 2007: 14)

Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection with O2 sensors
ALL 2007 models receive the “W” cams, reportedly giving the 883's 15% more torque
New Speedometer with clock and dual trip meters (and UK dual faced)
LED Indicators for high beam, oil light, turn signal indicators, and neutral light
Reduced-effort clutch cable (8% reduction)
Clutch interlock switch
Eliminated catalysts in exhaust

I believe they came back for some markets in 2010.

In the US, yes, but the OP is in the UK.

We (UK) have always (rubbermounts, anyway) had cats in both mսfflers.

US models only had cats in 2006 (until everyone got cats in 2014, anyway), and then it was only the 883, and the front muffler only.

It's a good idea to put something in your Location field in your profile, so that people know (roughly) where you are. Yes, it does make a difference.

It depends on how much freer flowing the new silencers are. You may get away with not retuning the EFI, or you may not.

Not sure why you'd change silencers just to get rid of cats?
