Just to answer a couple questions- The enrichener seemed to be operating OK. It was doing something anyway or it wouldn't have any effect when I pushed it in. This last time I pulled the carb though, I removed the assembly just to blow some air through it just in case there was some trash in it.

Videos- I linked a couple in the first post from back when I first started the bike. I can't tell what rpm it was idling at but maybe someone here might take a guess. It actually seemed kind of fast to me, but the enrichener was full out to maybe halfway in in the videos. At one point, you can see me push it all the way in and it kills the engine. I thought about posting a video of the lurching it was doing, but 1) I wasn't sure it would come through on video, 2) trying to video as I was riding didn't seem like a very good plan, 3)I just couldn't bring myself to have my wife video me putting up and down the driveway like a kid with a new bike on Christmas morning. If I ever get this thing running again, I'll post all kinds of videos!

I don't know what I torqued the spark plugs to. Tight, but not too tight? I know they don't have to be cranked in there. I just run them in until they stop then just a little nudge more. And yeah, I probably put on too much anti seize, having worked on lots of old vehicles, rusted fasteners stuck in the head or block (or anywhere else really) give me nightmares. And I though it was pretty much SOP on plugs. I was really careful not to get it on anything but the threads.

Thanks for all the ideas. I really appreciate the help.

Mine has a tach.
My idle is higher with the enrichener out.... about 600 RPMs faster as I remember, ish.
I believe you can get a timing gun with a tach built in.
I can't tell too much about your idle speed.

You will get it sorted Matt.

Yep, and they're better for reading the dynamic advance.

The ultrasonic bath sounds pricey but it's not bad either.
The ultrasonic tank can do so much more than spark plugs (and without the risk of grit being left to enter the engine).

For example:
Your loved ones jewelry (the justification if needed).
Spectacles come out like new.
It cleans out all the crevices in a carb.
Cleans calliper halves and master cylinders.
Cleans your fixings perfectly ready for reinstallation.
Your old Snap-on tools come out like new.
Ciutch plates, chains, dentures, false eyes (but probably not at the same time!).
Removes rust.
De-carbonises cooker burners, cylinder heads, manifolds, engine breathers, sensors.
Removes that sludge stuck in the bottom of fork sliders or drillings in castings, gearbox parts etc etc etc.....

Just leave it to work while you get an espresso or beer and pose by your garage to be admired by passersby.
