If I were a shop keeper, and my employee needed to make change, without the aid of a cash register, I would teach them. I wouldn't blame the school.
I was an indentured apprentice when I entered the "trades" (Boilermakers Local 101).
All the trade school background in the world couldn’t teach you what a capable journeyman could show you. Maybe we should help these young people with what they should know, the way they show us how to use our smart phones.

The underlying danger is that the State now has the authority to replace parents in all matters.
What they do with it, currently, includes behavior that would require any prosecutor to send the teachers to prison 30 years ago.

This is why the wife and I decided to give up on a lot of things and send the kids to parochial schools.

Seeing the condition of kids in public schools, I had no problem justifying paying twice- once in taxes and once in private tuition. And hey, I like my 23 year old Suburban.

The only fix would be for the money to follow the kid to any school the parents choose. Government run monopolies always deliver poor results.

I'm sure you did the right thing. Just wondering
About 13 years ago I had lunch at a Sam's Club and paid with a $10 bill.
When I got change for $100, I was shocked.

It didn't seem possible for the cashier to have made such a mistake so I
assumed the mistake was my thinking I had paid with a $100. Before going
to Sams, my father had given me some money to get him something. So I
asked him if he had given me a $100 bill and he assured me he had given me two $10 bills.

Apparently, the cashier had entered the wrong amount into a cash register that tells how much change to give. No, I didn't go back to Sams.

And the poor cashier may got his pay cut because of his mistake. Usually they look at the camera, if they find the cashier didn't make a mistake (bad code reading) but, give more money back he will be cut. The customer get his picture into the dishonest file and when he come back, he will be checked, like at Costco or WalMart.

Facial recognitions is everywhere, and credit company are now using it to calculate the risk.

Being honest don't cost nothing and save everybody else from price hike due to thefts
