Default Difference in Clutch Levers 45356-07 vs kit 44992-07

2011 xl1200cp

Broke a clutch lever. Parts book calls for 45356-07. HD Parts guy wants to sell me a kit that includes both clutch & front brake levers 44992-07.

Ignoring price...... what's the difference, material wise / finish, between these parts ?

For example:
  • from the accessory catalog, 44992-07 seems to be cast aluminum levers with a chrome type finish.
  • but is the 45356-07 clutch lever, blacked out or aluminum finish OR ?
Dealer has neither in stock. Don't wish to order the wrong part & then be stuck with it.

Never mind. Found my answer. Another dealer had it in stock.

45356-07 has the polished aluminum finish I was looking for.

I couldn't find that part number as an accessory.
But these are in the 2008 P&A book.
Both for 04-and up.

44992-07

Hippy, yeah I was kind of vague on the accessory catalog thing. What I meant was, I found 44992-07 at HD's accessory web site:It's all sort of "moot" now since I did figure out the finish on the 45356-07 part number (which was my main concern). Thanks for checking it out though.

I'll put that on the list to add to the Sportsterpedia for future reference.
