Default Rubber mount gas tank part

So, my bike has a larger after market tank, and one day the little rubber grommet on the bottom vibrated off. I was hoping maybe someone could help me identify the parts so I can replace them hopefully cheaply.

If you google this drag specialties kit: DS-391285, you'll see what I have I think, on the lower right of the product image is a double ended threaded stud, two threaded rubber grommet holders, and two rubber grommets. I have the threaded bar, and one set of the rubber grommet and holder, but the other side vibrated off one day

Any idea where I can find just the rubber mount / holder bushing type thing?

I have those parts from the wrecked bike that became my KooL Therapy.


The smaller diameter is 1.13
The larger diameter is 1.50
The width of the bushing is .89

BTW - Did you get your Emulsion Tube & Jets worked out?

Awesome man, yeah the parts from CV performance shipped, not here yet though, I got impatient and put the carb back on, figure I can change the jets on the bike when they come later. My last problem is the 6-pin deutsch connector from the right hand controls always being a little flakey (need to wiggle it or no start) so I’m replacing that plastic connector with one from amazon.

The tank rubber use to always fit good with one side gone, but seems a bit questionable now. And I’m sort of fixing all the little things on this bike now instead of rigging them good enough like usual


When I got the tank, and the carb back on, turned the gas back on, gas poured like crazy out of the overflow tube. And I was thinking, man I need to pull the carb again and replace the float needle (which I didn’t do before because the pin is pretty well stuck, I even have the needle as part of a kit I got the acceleration pump with) But thankfully the next day, I was going to drain the tank using the overflow tube and this time not a single drop came out.

I’ve noticed that with my fuel hoses they tend to tighten up any leaks over time so I guess the same thing happened there

OK - So I got the parts in the mail - I'll send you a PM with the tracking number... I sent both grommets, the inner washers & the bar...

Be sure to check carefully the float hinge bar - it only goes out one way...

From the Sportsterpedia:
Fuel Float Hinge Pin - Be very careful removing the hinge pin on which the fuel float operates. The pin is to ONLY be inserted in one direction. That direction is shown by an arrow embossed in the carb body. To remove the pin, press it out in the opposite direction from the embossed arrow. Be careful not to stress or break the mounting posts nor twist & damage the float arms.
