Sportster still has the original from 2009. Plan to go Shorai or maybe the Lithium sold at the HD dealers when it starts to go.

Been using a Yuasa GYZ16HL for nearly two years, 240 CCA vs. the 200 CCA of the stock battery and definitely starts with more vigor and less delay...

Lot of batteries out there that work. I wonder how many of them will last 13 years like my stock battery did.

Mine is finally going. Probably my own fault. It got drained down a couple times this past summer. Left the key on like 30 minutes or so. I'll be going with another HD battery. Can't argue with 13 years.
Contemplating the cycle electric stator and regulator tho.

Rehashing an old subject but i just found out the HD branded batteries have been updated/changed or whatever twice since 05.
I believe the consensus was they were made by Deka in the past. In any case, they're made by Yuasa now. Good, bad, or indifferent I'm not sure and I'm not sure on the cca or ah either.
Has anyone bought one recently?
He did say the HD branded was made to a heavier duty spec as has been mentioned in the past I think by redd tiger.
Changes/upgrades aren't always for the best and the reviews of late on utah harley online are less than stellar to say the least leaving me wondering if they're actually worth the higher cost like they use to be.
I dont mind paying a little more if the quality warrants but if one for half the price lasts 4 or 5 years I'm good too.

I had stood back from speaking of the Harley battery experience when reading all the glowing reports. I researched the batteries a while ago and thought they went from Yausa to Deca but that may be older information. Anyway I have had not much success with the Genuine Harley batteries as a few Harley Big Twin riders i know around my area also have had poor experiences. Many of us getting 12-13 months out of them. ( Yes all on correct chargers ). I see no date of manufacture on my last one. I have a slight suspicion that they have been in the shop sitting for years and/ or poor product. It seems the batteries form the past were much better. I have another brand of battery in bike now, a lot cheaper. If i only get 13 mths out of it i have already saved cash.
