No such thing as a salvage title in WV according to Progressive. I sent comps from the cycle trader but there are no 2003 sports for sale. The cheapest 03 is 4000.

Kelley, see my previous post, time just now is on their side, if you grab quickly at their low ball offer they win. I argued that locally listed bikes were all higher than Bluebook, did get me a much bigger chunk. Of course it was winter, I was recovering from shoulder being rebuilt and time was on my side. They did keep coming back to me and became more receptive as I continued my bid for more value. Different circumstances but the decision is eventually yours to make. Your model has by far the largest amount of factory installed equipment and should have a better value. Do you have “Craigslist” in your area?

Yes ,we have craigslist but there are not many bikes for sale and none like mine. I sent comps and the auto trader motorcycle page and cycle trader pages.I have fought with insurance companies before. Just keep showing the evidence and they will come around. I am not asking for a lot more. just to replace what i had with the insurance i was paying for.

Can you replace the bike with one exactly like it with the kind of money they are offering?
Like it was before the accident of course.

I have to find out how much having the tank and fenders painted will cost, then I will get back with the adjuster. I expect to be back riding in a couple of weeks. Maybe I can make it to the Mile over Labor Day....
Harley Paint is really expensive. My 2007 Sporty is metallic Yellow Pearl which is a two part paint plus clear. I paid $200 a quart for the two quarts I needed, plus $40 the clear (I think). That was just for the tank, not sure if a quart would also cover the fenders. Note that is just for the paint, I had someone do the paining for me for free

Another option is look for a set of used tins in the same color, or another color you like

Guys, post up a list of parts you may need. I have a bunch of spare parts
Even have some 100 Yr anv fenders (no gas tanks)
Think I have a rubber mount rear fender too.

P.S. if you fix a totaled bike yourself and keep it, a salvage title is not needed.
Your insurance company sets the rules not DMV (in most states)

" I paid $200 a quart for the two quarts I needed," That is helpful info! I found a local painter my indy recommended. Maybe I can get the adjuster to up the amount. It sounds like a factory tank is no longer available for my bike. Thank you for letting me know!

You may still be able to get a tank that is not painted
