Think the give away was the zimmer frame strapped on the rear rack.

Not had one for 2 years and fine, seem pretty relaxed about it here!

The Plod don't generally take much interest in such things, unless they are looking for a few quick tickets.. in which case they get the GATSO van out.

I've ridden bikes with no front mudguards and had no problems. That said, you have only yourself to blame for the results, English weather being what it is. Triumph and others, don't fit those dinky Matt-black extender pieces for no reason..

However it IS an MoT requirement, unlike a speedo which isn't; but a speedo is required under Construction and Use Regs, so no speedo IS a ticket. Look at the MoT cert, you will see that it says quite clearly that the bike is SAFE, not ROAD LEGAL, and DOESNT guarantee that it is in safe or legal condition other than at the time of inspection.

I got followed through town the other day by the plod, and I'm thinking here we go, straight through pipes, black plate no reflectors or number plate lights etc.....
they drove along beside me and I turned my head expecting a pull over signal and instead I got a thumbs up and smile.

BTW, no front mudguard on mine.

In New Mexico on a commerical truck a cracked windshield is cause to take the truck off the road. But, there is no requirement to have a windshield. So if you get pulled over for a cracked windshield just kick the thing out and your good to go! Sounds like the same kind of thing there.

Same thing with eye protection; you aren't required to have any, but if you do it has to be in good condition. No visor is fine; scratched visor, not so much.
