Default 30 tooth transmission pulley and barnett extra plate

Just installed the Barnett extra ring clutch plates and also a 30t aluminum forward (transmission) pulley on my 1995 1200 XL.

First 100 miles have been strange as the bike rides TOTALLY different . It's strange not having as much low end torque and getting used to having longer gears. So when I would be in traffic in 2nd gear before, now I find I can take 1st gear further in the real crappy traffic.

Highway speeds are WAY better as the bike is at about 2500RPM at 60mph. Still plenty of get up and go in 5th gear so no worries there!

The barnett clutch plates went in almost TOO smoothly. So easily in fact, I thought, surely I did something wrong. But so far so good. The clutch spring tool, while expensive, make the job totally painless.

Going on a 700 mile round trip and will update.

Back after about 1000 miles on the kevlar clutch plates and the 30t forward pulley. Much smoother but didn't get much better gas mileage. I am running dual sport tires so MPG sucks for the most part. I get between 40-45mpg. Does suck stopping every 80 miles. May have to get a tour tank or something.

Can't tell any difference with the new clutch rings and transmission fluid instead of oil in the primary.

My biggest surprise is I have had no issues with the clutch. I felt for sure I was going to botch that thing.
