Last put gas in my Bronco a year ago, along with a bottle of seafoam, cranks right up and runs great. When I had a boat I used seafoam, seems to work as well as Sta-Bil to me for keeping fuel useable.

Actually, most motorcycle and boat (and other seasonal usage) manufacturers recommend the use of some form of fuel stabilizer during storage. See your own Harley Sportster owners manual as an example:

From my 07:

Prepare fuel system by one of the two methods outlined below:

a. Fill fuel tank and add a gasoline stabilizer. Use one of the commercially available gasoline stabilizers following the manufacturer's instructions.

b. Drain all gasoline from the fuel tank. Spray the inside of the fuel tank with a commercially available rust preventative. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
In other cases I remember a technical service bulletin from Yamaha SPECIFICALLY recommending Star-Tron for help with stabilizing fuel and dealing with ethanol.

I'm sure there are more.

Harley now sells their own stabilizer. It is recommended to use it, especially if you have any ethanol in your gas. I've tried it. It's expensive compared to Seafoam. I used it to make sure to "condition" any ethanol I may have had in my last full tank. If I get a chance to ride earlier than spring, I'll still stick with Seafoam. The only bad point I've experienced with Seafoam is that it seems to drop the Octane a point or two.
