Default Plug wire question

I had to order a Venturi Ring and the only person I found that had one was TT Cycle and he has a $25 minimum order. I asked him if he had plug wires and he did which still didn't get me to even $20 but he sent them anyways. I didn't ask what brand or anything the plug wires were (should of) but they arrived and they are 8mm 800ohm Moroso 27214. Are these good plug wires, would these be preferred over stock? I'm assuming mine are stock, the current ones on my bike are some sort braided material instead of rubber on the outside. Should someone with a 27 year old bike with just under 35,000 original miles change the wires? The wire packaging also says fits 86-03 XL except XL1200S, I'm assuming (and hoping) this is the 1200 Sport and not the 1200 Standard?

XL1220S is the Sport Model and takes 4 plug wires with a different coil setup.

moroso racing has been around a long time. they have good products and the wires maybe a lifetime warranty. it sounds like you have the spiral wound wires. it will have a conductive core of kevlar or fiberglass with a nickle fine wire wrapped around the core so it is a fraction of the resistance of the stock wire. the spiral wound will reduce EMF and should function at or better than stock for EMF and of coarse, lower resistance is a better path for the high tension to follow.

Thank you for the info. These blue max wires I believe do have the kevlar center with a stainless steel conductor, yes they are spiral wound. Just wanted to make sure these were worth putting on my bike vs the, what I believe is, stock wires.

Do these looks like the old Harley plug wires?

Those look aftermarket as well. Stock wires weren't fabric/mesh wrapped.

The stainless shielding on you old wires is just for looks. Shielding only works if grounded to the engine and the spark plug shell.

I would agree with buster - Moroso has been around a long time and their products are usually very good quality.
