I put a filter on there that is made for the application. Got it from hammer. I just didn't want an open hose in front of my rear tire.

That’s what I did too hexnut. I made my hose length just long enough to clear the bottom of the air cleaner backing plate though. No real reason I did it that way, other than personal preference and it saves time having to route the hose somewhere and secure it.

Curious. What did you do with the krankvent? You know, the one you modified by grinding the center ring down to make it close faster because the stock breathers are adequate at best?
Yeah, someone reminded of that. And you thought no one would remember.

Is there a point to this? Or do you just need to take your meds?

The krankvent I had mounted in a horizontal hose run after the horsehoe and it was accumulating just enough oil inside to leak at the o-ring joint. That was annoying. Since I couldn't tell any actual difference between running or not running it I took it off. I DIDN'T replace it with a fuel filter. Yes, the stock breathers do seem to be adequate.

If one includes maintenance as a performance point, then yes i would say vent it from chest.
I mean, whom here likes to change rocker box gaskets?

I tried the catch can under the air cleaner, ended up with an oily mist all over the right side of the bike. I ended up routing the breathers out of the airbox and under the bike.

Nice and clean! Barely noticeable too.
