Default Public apology

I was in violation, unaware of the rules, but in violation. For this I apologize. I like this forum very much, did not intend to cause a problem.

You did not cause a problem. You were unaware. When the website first started almost two years ago and it did not cost me much ($7.77 a month) to run.

As the site became popular it started crashing servers and we got kicked off by three hosting companies.

Now we are on a dedicated server that I am renting and it costs quite a bit. The original software that the site was running on was also free but it was slow, buggy and there were new vulnerabilies on it every month. The software I run on now and the photo gallary software also costs quite a bit.

In order to make ends meet I started the Premier Membership and Supporting Vendor program. Frankly, without these two programs the website would go away.

The contributions form these two programs go to pay for the server, software. All Premier members recieve patchs. I also run a contest (try to at least once a month) where I give away items such as parts, tools, leather cloths, etc and the contributions also go to pay for these items.

I try to purchase the prizes from the Supporting Vendors because they do so much to help out the forum.

Thanks for your understanding.

Pilot,

I wouldn't consider you one of the big nasty offenders that have popped up a few times in the past. After all you designed that jockey shifter with aome input from this forum.

The first time you started talking about it was a forum member just yabbering with other forum members about how you wanted to build your own custom piece of hardware.
Nothing wrong with that, it should be encouraged!

Then you went on to start fabricating the prototype and you posted a bunch of pictures.
Nothing wrong with that, it should be encouraged!

Then you finialized your design and wanted to let us all see the final design.
Nothing wrong with that, it should be encouraged!

Then you posted a link to your website... You probably should have just said PM me if you'd like one.

Now I can't find any of your old posts or pictures??? I don't think the entire threads should have been deleted. Only the website link in the final thread.

Gazza

Hey Bert, what if I buy a product and after showing it installed if other members want to know where I got it is posting the link against the policy?

I'm curious so I don't break the rules.

Bert's tied up with life for a week or 2, so I'll put it this way....

A member in good standing, who has no history of "issues" such as yourself, would suffer no worse than a PM and a deletion if such an issue were to present itself....

We don't actually comment on "what if's"......each situation is dealt with on its own merits....

I don't believe anyone should be all that concerned about such a scenario....
