Thanks, Aaron or possibly Dan(I'm not sure which one you are, sorry), for explaining that so in depth. I knew that the power band could be manipulated with tubing diameter and length but I didn't realize to what extent. Now I want to dig into exhaust science that much more. Do have any suggested literature? Oh and also does anyone know if the defender starts with 15/8 or 13/4? I'd like to try to replicate it's performance as closely as possible.

And to be fair, my comment about the PD falling on it's face at lower rpms was a bit of a stretch. It's about a good a compromise as there is with maybe a little too much emphasis up top. Its made for max numbers. I think maybe a little more in the low to mid would be more preferable to a lot of street bikes. But that's just my humble unprofessional opinion. Not that it's really bad there.
I considered the pro street Basani makes with 2 steps instead of 1 but wasn't sure how it would do and the side by side pipes as opposed to the traditional top and bottom were a no go for me as well.
