never seen the key on the xl, some bt cams could with modification. looking at hammer post, basically the same info I got from a xl build book years back. for street, straight up is the way to go, need boost???slip in stealth nitrous.

Well, the #2 cam does turn all the others, so that practice does make perfect sense for adjusting total timing.

#2 drives off the crank so if we move the pinion gear it moves all the cams !
My other issue is the small contact area from pinion gear to key.
Seems like a good reason to weld the pump drive and pinion gears together ?
Of course the Bronze pump gear would not tolerate that !

Some of our venders need to come up with a clear crank cover for rotation inspection during a build. That would be very helpful while inspecting cam rotation/ positioning.

That settles it then, an assortment of degree'd pinion gears for fine tuning cams. Sounds good to me. The key isn't still called a 'shear key' so theoretically it breaks before the pinion/ crank does? Bad Ju Ju
