Default My Experience With Phat Performance

I have been interested in a LePera Cherokee seat for a while, but only a couple stores seem to carry them for my 90s bike. One of those being Phat Performance.
Their reviews seem to indicate that a lot of people are unfatisfied with the length of time Phat Performance takes to process orders, I contacted their sales department before ordering to find out how long the order would really take.
On their website it says 2-3 weeks, sales told me its really more like 5-6. So i replied that I would place the order, waited a week and did so.
That was on March 29, as of today, June 8th, I still have not received my order. After 5 weeks I sent an email, waited a few days, then sent another, both went unanswered, so I started calling. My initial calls got the "I checked, not here, check at end of the week", I finally got a guy to say I'm one of a few people having the same issue so he'll call LePera and get back to me. When I called back 4 days later, I got attitude and was told that "we told you we'd get back to you when we talk to LePera".
So I waited a week, called back and finally got information, with more attitude. I was told LePera responded, they're getting to the order now, it should be shipped out mid-month.
Then instead of apology for forgetting to fill me in, he went off about being tired of people complaining and being impatient. I responded that I would have a different attitude if I was told the real process time up front, or got a call back, but he didn't seem to like that response. He told me it's a custom order and those take time (I got nothing custom, just the plain seat).
I used to work in politics, so I've dealt with a lot of assholes, but its rare that I've come accross a store that dislikes customers this much.

I've bought several custom Le Pera seats, direct from Le Pera. It's never taken more than 6 weeks, and has been less than 3 weeks.

That's from placing the order, Le Pera making a custom seat, dispatching it, shipping to the UK, clearing Customs in the UK, and delivery to my door.

I can't explain it, I've ordered a custom seat from a car upholstery shop in the past and it took 3 weeks.

Well, you must admit, that you can't say you were not warned.

I always buy directly from the manufacturer whenever possible. It prevents Peter from saying it's Pauls fault and Paul from saying it's Peters fault.

We sell these through Parts Canada at work. I've never sold one but nothing out of that catalog has taken more than 30 days.

Jim, I know it wasn't my fault, MUST have been Peters!

I admit I was stupid, but aside from getting major work done (to a house, bike, body etc) or a pregnancy, nothing should take over two months to be fulfilled

I sure didn't mean to imply that you were stupid. Hell, we've all wanted something bad enough that we haven't always followed the best recommendations.

And I agree that there is absolutely no excuse for Phat Performances actions in regard to your purchase.

I'm saying I was stupid, more specifically gullible, the website says orders take 2-3 weeks, I trusted that if asked they'd be up-front about it. To add insult to injury, I paid extra for expedited shipping
