A couple years ago on this forum some of the guys were talking about lubing o-rings (not specifically these in the fuel line), and it was discussed the proper lubricant to use is Molykote from Dow. Expensive, but the correct lubricant for the job. It is very slick stuff. Probably completely unnecessary and nearly any grease would work (and be better than none). But, if you wanna be one of the cool kidz...Molykote. The tube will likely last your lifetime, unless you decide to use it for other things besides o-rings...

A light coat of vegetable oil on the male end is all that's necessary. It will work for the fuel valve connection as well.
