Oh good, I will probably do that. I may have burned out the points now though. If it works I could technically just run a wire from the battery to the coil on a toggle switch, my truck has been that way for like 2 years, because I can't find a replacement key switch.

When the killswitch is off, does that also disable the starter switch? I'm wondering if it somehow got shorted to the off position and is causing both of my problems.

Yes, kill switch shuts off power to the coil, too.

Well I found some ratty/corroded wiring up at the switches. After moving things around the starter button works, and the coil has power. I'm going to cut the wires back to where they are good and solder some new ones in.

It runs! The bad wires must have been the only problem. I thought for sure I'd still be diagnosing a no spark issue after fixing them, but nope. Thank you to everyone who posted in this thread.
