Will earlier year rear sprockets fit on an 06?
I've found a bunch of chips in the teeth of my rear sprocket, and thought it might need to be replaced. I looked around to see what, other than stock, I could replace it with.
It's not that the stock ones look bad, but I like the earlier style with the round holes, instead of the five spokes.
I know you folks know it all with sporty's, what are my options other than stock?

Here's a way to get the answer. Go to denniskirk.com. Look for a pulley for your 06, then look at FITMENT for the years it fits.

Starting in 2000 the center hole is the same for all the bolt-on Harley pulleys.
The 5-Bolt pattern is the same, the bolt diameter is the same. The width is either 1-1/8" (yours), or 1" starting 2007, except some of the Softails (7/8", 20mm). Some styles are "holes" some are spokes.
The difference is the number of teeth and the width. You can go up (70T) or down (66T) and use the same belt as long as it is 1-1/8", 25mm. If you go up, 70T, you will spin faster on the interstate, about 3%, and be a little quicker off the line. If you go down, 66T, you will spin slower on the interstate.
