well mr. skuzeee i showed some of your work to a guy that just closed down a leather shop after 40+ years.
he says your work is amazing and you probably would do good in custom environment.
he closed shop since good leather is hard to come by, wonder why with all the cows being used. a lot of what he sees was over-seas leather usually over treated and does not last long.
another complaint was people in general have lost the love for leather, his shop was next to the college and early years it was a rage. i still have my 1960's hat i got from him.
now people shop online and buy sight unseen so they do not know quality work.
he said if you do custom work where the customer sends you what he wants and you find quality leather, price is less important and word of mouth travels. with face book and the tube, you can get cheap exposure.

oops for got to add: he said doing custom tack and saddles is a winner if you live where it is popular, they do not mind paying out!!!! especially if it is for show.

Wow, thank you for doing that, I appreciate getting the input. Tbh I only crafted one or two leather works that I was happy with, most of the others were a battle. I did try to sell some through this sub shop/arcade/art gallery in Reno, guess what I had there sold, they just forgot to pay me my portion. Since then I've moved around the country and havent done much art or crafts in the last 3 years, I keep wanting to, but everywhere I've moved to feels temporary and somehow I never get around to it.

man you really should be making money with your talent. leather stuff sells. there's a lot more than just belts and wallets you can make. i know of a local couple that make leather purses, bracelets, motorcycle bags and stuff and it's all personalized. they deal locally and make enough money to live off of very comfortably doing it. some of their purses sell upwards of $300.

you could easily sell stuff on etsy, ebay or some of the other handmade sites like etsy.

I started in my Dad's country band early too. I have a natural talent for percussion and wind instruments. I was also "hidden", but since I was 6' 2" when I was 13, I _kind_ of looked old enough to be playing in a bar. I played drums for his various bands until I entered the Navy at 18. Met some great stars along the way too. I watched Dad (and other relatives) barely bring any money in and decided I wanted a real job to pay the bills, so I used the Navy to launch my electronics/computer career. Now I play for fun and it helps to keep me fit (along with other activities). Sadly my brother sold my kit many years ago without asking me. The SO has given me several percussion presents over the many years we have been together since she knows how much I love it.

Between the computer stuff and many technical books I own, only and electronic kit will fit into my office.
