Thanks Doodah.
Hope you are doing well.
I need to get my Sporty running again because it has not been started in two years or more.

The roller starter business is certainly keeping me busy. About the time I sell all I have on hand I get another order or two. The production line has just kept rolling for the past 2 years. I am beginning to get a number of buyers who own old Panheads and British bikes, along with the racers.

looks like you'll have no problem turning her over pinion.

can also use the -57 cable bracketry instead of of the -72 stuff. they very similar.
then get the 72 style throttle shaft.

Default Secondary return spring

Does anyone have a photo of a carb that had a secondary return spring added to it ? The spring on my 1975 bendix isn't closing my throttle all of the way

There was more than one shaft return spring used on a bendix, one was very strong. Also make sure you are not trying to overcome another problem.

The worn return spring was the last thing I thought of I thought manifold leak or fuel starvation was causing my idle increase while sitting then I happens to push down on the throttle can and she calmed down I don't think I could fit a whisker in the gap that's how small it is but it has a big effect. I stretched a push style spring and wrapped it around the cam and throttle cable fitting it worked to get me home but im looking for something a bit neater. I do plan on replacing the spring but the screws in the plate ( butterfly) are pretty chewed up I'd like to hold off on that possible can of worms till its cold out. I'm just looking to see if there are any pictures on here where someone else did the same thing

Make sure your throttle plate is installed in the proper direction, and also that it is centered in the bore and not binding.

hell, it hides nicely behind the air cleaner. probably not much to improve on there - if it works, it works, go forth and enjoy the summer!
