take the tour pak rack and cut it down the middle. then take off the appropriate amount of material then re weld. leaving the ends to connect properly to the smaller width of the frame mount sporty.. vs that of the rubber mount sporty.

Oh, didn't realize the rigid is narrower than the rubber mounts. I wonder if I could just have a plate welded to my round tube rack?

Have you checked to see if the (front to back) spacing of the mounting studs (both right or both left) are the same between rubber & solid as well??

From what I can tell. The distances are the same the width is different. I held up a rigid side plate to a rubbermount and it appeared to match.

Rear rack just fabbed from cold roll. Strong enough to support my weight and probably much more.

I like the diamond plate idea. It would look much better and be lighter.

Nice bike, how did you trike it? Any pics of the actual rack you can post? Was it a complete fab or modification of HD parts?

Jordan1200
It is a Frankenstein rear axle kit. Got lots of pictures of the conversion on the Handicapped Rider Forum here.
http://xlforum.net/forums/s....php?t=1792664

Got pictures of the whole trike axle installation, the springer conversion, and the cross over shifter there.

Rear is bobbed off and the rack is bolted directly to the frame. It also supports the tool bags on the sides of the seat. It is kinda heavy, but with a Ford truck axle under it, not a problem with weight.
