I think the 70's were the best years for bikers
You should not be so sure about that............... I was 21 when you was born and I was in Vietnam. It wasn't one of the best years of my life. Accept what you have been given and be glad to have it.

70s weren't all great to be a biker. Few places would serve you, getting turned away from pubs, cafes & even petrol stations was commonplace.Bikes might have seemed cheap but my first full time job in 1974 paid £15 a week. Harley Davidsons were rarely seen (in the UK) as they were so expensive with 1 main dealer, Warrs of London. No internet, if you needed a hard to find part it was writing letters in bike rags or word of mouth at bike rallies, shows etc.Bike gear offered little protection against wet or a spill.I did enjoy it though

Born 1945 on the best day of my life. WWII was ending and as I remember the economy was ratcheting up for the next 25 years. I could buy a well used Harley 45 for 50 bucks but I didn't. Those were good years to be a young man, mostly.

55-59. 1955 was the year my parents may have regretted a few times
