Default Need help with Bar end mirrors

Hello all,

bought some grips and bar end mirrors for my Harley. links below

https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...-mirror---left

I'm having issues understanding how to install these. Maybe I'm just dumb?

I put the parts together on the mirror as the picture shows for my 1 1/4 size bars (i believe that's the stock size on my 16 XL883L) and it just slides in and out of the inside of the bars. Tightening the only screw does nothing and the instructions are apparently useless to me. Does anyone have these or able to make sense of the instructions and maybe provide some clarity or know if there is a video out there?

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide ahead of time.

You say you have 1 1/4 size bars ...

Description in link states:

Includes hardware required to fit both 7/8" or 1" bars

I have stock bars, I don't know if they are 1 1/4th but the instructions I have in front of me say they fit 22MM and 1 1/4th size bars so I kind of assumed that's what I had. the Harley store also confirmed they would fit my bike.

Edit: I'm sorry it also states it fits 1inch bars. so, either way, it should fit mine, I had just read that wrong.

OK, so it looks like I was able to figure this out. It had a metal piece that went on the end of it that I had thought was for larger size bars and then a nut. You used the screw and nut with that metal piece and put it on loosely, then you put it into the bar and tighten it and it actually slides on the inside of the bar as the screw gets tighter creating pressure on the inside of the bar. They still don't feel as secure as I expected but I can pull and tug with a good deal of force and they don't come out. I'll just check the nut is tight before each ride for a little while and make sure it's not coming loose. a locking nut seems like a good idea for this also but it didn't come with one. not sure if it would help or not.

Thank you everyone for the help
