Yesterday on the way home I put her into a ditch off a chip and tar road.
Put on an old set of handlebars and risers and took inventory.
Biggest issues are the broken shift shaft and clutch cable, everything else is cosmetic and not that bad. Rear fender is a little bent, though.

Today I'll pull the shifter (again ) and take it to work tonight and see if the weld shop can do something with it.

First time I've ever had to call for a trailer.

For varying degrees of OK.
I'm not sure how many muscles I pulled and my knee bounced off the air cleaner on the way by. I'm too old for that kind of abuse. I may need to slow down a bit. Or at least keep off crappy roads.
I picked the ditch because I didn't want to high side in the stones.
All in all I got off pretty cheap although I still don't know what the citation's going to cost me.
That reminds me, I need to find a clutch cable now that the bike shops are open.
Guys at work are going to try to weld the shift shaft today. If they can fix it it would save me a hundred bucks.

Likewise, I'm glad you survived. Gravel is never your friend. It caused me to do an end-over one time in a very tight turn which had filled with a line of very fine gravel the night before during a thunderstorm. One of my injuries was snapping off my right side rear view mirror with my rib cage. I couldn't sleep, cough, laugh, sneeze or hiccup for over 6 weeks. Fortunately, I was able to ride home with my handlebars bent into a shape of the number 7. I still relive that few seconds over and over, in slow motion. That was over 20 years ago and I've extremely pro-active in my riding ever since.
