Default replacing padding or foam on a seat

I have a mustang seat which was very comfortable but after years of service and sun and rain, I am considering my options. Has anyone replaced padding or foam in their seats?

I haven't yet, but contacted Mustang for the same reason (my cover stitching is deteriorating and I have already repaired it once). They will sell you a replacement cover for around $90 + shipping or a total kit for around $150 + shipping (cover, pad and rivets). My pad is OK, so I didn't ask about separate cost for that. I have done other seats before and if you have to shape the foam or stitch the seat yourself it is a pain in the ass.

Right now I have just duct taped the seams and made a cover out of an old black t-shirt because in the long run I figured it would be more cost effective (cost and labor) to just replace the seat. You might want to check if you have any upholsterers in your area that do motorcycle seats.

MUSTANG is awesome for after sale support.. that total kit is a good deal. you will need new rivits and the ones that mustang sells are correct..
