Default V Twin replica gas tank

Has anyone bought or seen this up close?
V-Twin is selling them.

Questioning the quality.

I hear ya'!
I wouldn't mind paying a bit more but all I see is Storz.
Not saying Storz isn't worth it, just that I haven't got it.

I don't mind re-welding seams but if the metal is as thin as tin foil...

Ah, gotcha. At first I thought that V-Twin part looked bad until I saw the Storz prices. Looks better now.

Honestly, all the cheaper ones seem to come out of the same factory and appear, in my experience to be getting better. I always, inspect, plug, pressurize and dunk in water for several hours with a gauge. Haven't had to weld any of the 3 I bought in the last 5 years. I don't think I paid more than $100 for any of them.

Yeah, leaky is easy enough to fix.
What would really piss me off is if the thing goes off in 15 different directions!
Twisted, one side longer, larger, deeper.

Also take a look at redmax speedshop in UK; the tanks are made from alloy and the quality seems to be very good.
They are double the price of the V-Twins tank, that is made from steel, but a bargain compared to the Storz tank.
Buy the way, the quality of the Storz tank is absolutely perfect!
