Removing TSSM replace with.....?
Need help here. I striped off all the turn signals, the switches that operate them, and want to nick the alarm. Here is the deal. I canfix any thing on a carbed bike but this is my first bike with an EFI and a super computer. My intentions are to get rid of everything useless and take my 2008 nightster to bare bones essentials got as far ass I can go without help. I have rewired the electrical on the front of the bike to move all the switches under the tank and off teh handle bars.
I no longer have turn signals. Do I need a TSM or can I just run a relay to it.
Also I want that beyond worthless alarm off my bike and the space it is taking. I have no idea what it is comprised of in parts. what plugs/harnesses/unit/sensers belong to this retarded thing.
If anyone wants it it is yours just send me the TSM and I will send you the alarm, and the tssm. And if you could tell me what is all part of it.
What can I strip off that is electrical that won't hamper the operation. This thing is a wiring nightmare. To make it a simple bike I need to go through a difficult process of rewiring this bastard. Oh I have all hte stock switch housings if you want them as well.
So any help about this is appreciated. And I know that if I get the TSM i will need to marry it up. Butis it ness. as I don't have turn signals and am nicking the alarm.

I see you have California plates.
If you go to www.amadirectlink.com/legisltn/laws.asp
and click on California, you'll find turn signals are required.
Might want to keep the parts.

The TSM should physically just swap for the TSSM. There is also an antenna I believe that plugs into the TSSM, from the pictures I've seen it runs up underneath the seat and sits next to the ECM.
Besides turn signals, the TSM/TSSM also acts as the tip over switch. I'm guessing you aren't worried about that either, but figured I would mention it.
I've never read about anyone successfully removing the TSM/TSSM. Have you tried just pulling the TSSM and doing the password learning procedure? I have no idea if it would work or not (I suspect not, but only one way to find out).

The main CPU in the ignition module mates with the TSSM or TSM. Since all 2008s' have an alarm, finding a compatible TSM only may be an issue. Might be best to figure out how to disable the alarm and leave the TSSM in-place.

Screw loose dan
Thanks, Nah I don't care about the tip over switch. If I tip over the bike is gonna be hammered and me in a hospital. Do you know what the three plugs are between the fender and oil bag? And where is the tssm. What does the antenna look like? I moved the ECM to hide that POS cause of the seat I have. It is zip tied to the battery. This thing has stuff the tech at the dealer ship has to guess about. Which is why I am here. This guy at the dealer ship was trained to work on these and needs to guess. I figure talk to people who have done these types of things. Although what I am doing is more then most people on here have done. Everything I am doing is irreversible. No more stock.

The 2008 Parts manual lists the same parts numbers that the 2007 Parts manual does. Both list the standard TSM as 68920-07.
