The simpler option might be to just double face tape the automatic key fob to the inside of the battery cover. Cheaper than replacement and gives the same result.

Well, you still have a parasitic load (albeit a tiny one) on the battery and you still have an EXTRA module that can fail and disable the bike.

If the module is installed, I might as well carry the damn fob and let it do it's job JUST IN CASE...

I'll check with Jenn (it's her bike) but I'm pretty sure she won't care... yeah sure.

And yeah, that would be a nice way to add some security to your ride.
