I removed the front ones while I was waiting for my new tires.
I was bored so I sanded and polished the forks.
What a world of difference!

That's called "false security". They do not see you regardless what you have on the bike. You could be a naked chick with reflectors on your boobs and they still wouldn't see you.
It's up to us to see them and do the thinking for them. It's all about being able to get out of trouble faster than you got into it in the first place. That's why we need 120 HP. When in doubt, wring it out! Throttle first, brake later when you have time.

Seems like a small thing which might end up saving your life, or perhaps your passenger, does not compromise performance in the slightest. I actually added a reflective stripe across my oil tank and my battery cover to give a little bit more nighttime visibility.
